After completing her Ph.D. in History at the University of California, Berkeley, Hilary Lynd will begin as a postdoctoral fellow at WiSER in 2024. She has published articles about the land deal that convinced Inkatha to join elections in 1994 and about ideas of race and Blackness in the Soviet Union. Broadly, her research focuses on regimes of ethnic and racial difference in the Soviet Union and South Africa: how they functioned, how they interacted, and how they collapsed.
